The oldtime slow jam will take place every second and fourth Sunday @ Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club. The jam will have three leaders on banjo, guitar and fiddle who will be there from 6-7:30pm. Promptly at 7:30 a free performance will occur from an established musician in the area and everyone is encouraged to stay and imbibe at the wonderful social club-but of course, you don't have to! A home for all acoustic players, singers, and people who like to play unplugged in general. While all levels are welcome, we are an Intermediate to Advanced group. Every Saturday we meet up for a Slow Session where musicians of all instruments are welcome to practice playing Irish traditional tunes in a group setting. Tunes are practiced at a slow pace and players of all levels are welcome to bring sheet music or learn by ear as others play. A list of regular tunes is provided, although everyone is encouraged to introduce tunes they are comfortable playing.
